Product Description
The Pleater Feeder is a Chris Slade Design and can be attached to the base of the Pleater and acts as a thread dispenser, making it possible to thread the needles directly from bobbins. Not compatible with the Princess pleater purchased from Princess pleaters
It integrates perfectly with the Amanda-Jane, Super Amanda and Sally Stanley Pleaters, an adapter lid is available if using the feeder with any of the Read Pleaters
Pleater feeder advantages
- no need to pre-cut gathering threads
- several lengths of fabric can be fed at a time
- ideal for circular yokes, where thread length increases with each successive row. No calculations required, simply thread the needles, pleat and fan pleats to "bishop" shape and cut to exact length required.
- no wasted threads
24 bobbins and a reel of pre-waxed quilting thread and full instructions are included
An adapter lid is available to make it possible to use with all of the Read Pleaters

My opinion - fantastic
Having used the feeder box for several years now I would not consider using a pleater without one.
The threads are always ready to be threaded into the needles,
the box lifts the pleater higher up so you can see what you are doing
you can pleat more than one piece of fabric at a time without worrying about running out of thread

Pleater box delight!
I have been smocking for over 30 years and I used to cut lengths of thread to use in the pleater.......I hated it and it took forever to thread the pleater. I knew about the pleater box and often wished I could find one in my country. This year I decided it is time, doesn't matter where I buy the box - it is TIME to get it. I am thrilled!!!!!!! It makes everything soooo easy. I don't spend hours cutting lengths of thread and can pleat whenever I want to because it is so quick to prepare the pleater now. I absolutely love it and think all pleaters should be sold with a pleater box included. Pleating is now nearly as much fun as smocking. Thank you for this product, it is perfect

Makes pleating so much easier
I wish I had bought this last year, after making 60 smocked dresses this year I decided to treat myself to the pleater feeder. It's so simple to use and I love that I can now pleat the bodice of more than one dress at a time without having to rethread all the needles.
