Product Description
Deighton's Silver Smocking Transfer dots show up on light and dark fabrics, they may be difficult to see on heavily patterned fabric
One sheet in each pack, save money when buying more than one sheet
How to use Transfer Dots:
Place the transfer over the wrong side of the material, being careful to put it on accurately and leaving space for a seam.
Iron off the dots, using a moderately hot iron
if the dots do not iron off then run your iron over the sheet again.
Transfer sheet come in several sizes
Size 'A' 8mm x 9mm 19 rows per sheet
Size 'B' 9mm x 6mm 29 rows per sheet
Size 'G' 5mm x 7mm 23 rows per sheet
Size 'H' 6mm x 9mm 19 rows per sheet
Size 'K' 4mm x 4mm 37 rows per sheet
Size 'O' 3mm x 6mm 28 rows per sheet
Size 'Q' 6mm x 6mm 28 rows per sheet
Sheet size 20 cm x 115 cm (8" x 45" appx)
Will not transfer well on fabrics with a cut spot unless you remove the cut spot because of the uneven surface
See video on how to use these dots
Do not iron off more rows than required as they are not designed to wash off
Iron on Smocking Dots – another way to use them
Ideal for white fabrics or heavily patterned fabrics
Did you know, once you cut off the number of rows you need, you can pin the dots to your fabric and pick up each dot through the tissue then tear away the tissue once you have picked up all the rows.
Don’t forget to put a knot on the end of the thread, so you don’t pull it out as you go.

Easiest way to smock
I used to draw smocking dots, which took ages. It is so much easier to use these. Brilliant.

Couldnt' do without them!
Essential item for hand smocking. They transfer easily and each pack will do about two dresses age 2. I had some older Blue Grace Knott dots which did not transfer at all. Not sure if they have an expiry date. Also not sure what the difference is between them and the silver ones! Anyhow very pleased with the silver dots and prompt delivery as well. Can't get them anywhere else in the UK, so thank you for stocking them. Thank you for you comments - Christine

silver smocking dots.
I was disappointed to find my dots were duplicated in places so I phoned to tell vendor. I was asked to post these back to vendor (incurring postage ) so she could examine same. I thought at least I might get 2 sheets in return to make up for the discrepancy ! So my dots cost me in excess of what I should have paid ! Dear Mary, I am sorry you were disappointed with only receiving one sheet in replacement, but I obviously misunderstood as I thought you had manage to use one half as you only returned half. I am happy to send you a further sheet to rectify your disappointment. Thanks Christine

Smocking dots on wool fabric, possibly Viyella.
Not a good result. Very few dots transferred on to my plaid wool fabric. Sorry the dots didn't work out for you. I hope you did the test sample first, however, I suspect you couldn't get the iron hot enough on the wool fabric for the dots to transfer. Christine

excellent smocking aide
If you don’ t have a smocker this is the next best thing. Very easy to transfer onto the fabric with an iron. The silver shows up well on most colours, except the lightest. A wide selection of spacing. And speedy delivery too! Thank you!
