I started smocking some years ago having been taught by the lovely and most helpful Chris Slade. Since then I had concentrated on commissions. I created many outfits to showcase my work, using beading, ribbon work and heirloom lace.

When Chris Slade retired I took over and set up House of Smocking and expanded the choices of fabric, patterns and haberdashery, which I hope you will find tempting.

Look out for the You Tube video tutorials I have added to some many of the products including, tuition, Pleaters and lace. Here you will be shown how to add lace to fabric and lace to entre deux and ribbon to blanketing. Please also check out my YouTube channel under House of Smocking for more helpful videos on how to smock, make up a dress and use a pleater.
